Dennis Group is looking for an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer for our Atlanta office.
About the Job
You will participate in the design and implementation of production strategies as part of our engineering team. You need to possess a fundamental understanding of designing control systems in a manufacturing environment. This position is client facing and to be successful, you will be a professional, self-motivated, and energetic individual with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Design and troubleshoot both software and hardware necessary for control systems utilizing PLCs for integration of manufacturing systems.
- Network infrastructures - Ethernet, DeviceNet, AS-i, Profibus, etc. - design, diagnose, and troubleshoot
Control panels - safety circuits, I/O, networks - design, specify, wire, and procure
Design, specify, and procure electrical equipment, e.g. MCCs
Specify, procure, configure, and troubleshoot controls hardware and field instrumentation
Develop bid documentation for Electrical, Automation, and Low Voltage (network, security) vendors
Interface and manage installation contractors during construction
Controls Engineers routinely work both in our office and at client sites during installation and startup/commissioning/qualification phases of a project. Candidates should expect periods of overnight travel totaling approximately 50% of the year.
Minimum 4 years of experience in systems integration for manufacturing systems required
Minimum of a Bachelor degree required
Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD (electrical schematics, layout/building drawings, etc.)
Familiarity with Allen Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens processors a must
Familiarity with database programming skills a plus
